PEOPLE IN THE PARK
Conflict often arises over the interests of those who live in the Lake District and the priorities set by statute regarding conservation of the area for the benefit of the whole of the nation. Strict interpretation of these priorities often over-rides local peoples' understandable wishes to have the same rights and economic opportunities that apply anywhere else.
